rapper Boity signs to Def Jam Recordings Africa

News coming in indicate that rapper Boitumelo Thulo also known as Boity has signed a deal to join Dej Jam Africa.

According to Billboard magazine, the 30 year old female emcee has become one of the musicians signed to the African division of legendary record label, Def Jam Recordings.

The Bakae rapper now joins fellow South African rapper Nasty C who also signed to Def Jam earlier on this year in March.

It should however be noted that Boity signed to UMG (Universal Music Group) which is the parent company for Def Jam Africa way back in 2018 before she even released her first single titled ‘Wuz Dat’.

So when UMG decided to form an African division which is Def Jam Africa like we’ve already mentioned, they needed to sign a few artists to pioneer the label, and Boity was among the first artists they reached out to.

Boity is now expected to release her debut music album under her new label and with the way things look, she’s definitely destined for greatness.

And in addition, Boity’s move is absolutely good and a win for the entire South African hip hop culture especially for the female rappers as it is going to open doors for many of them in the nearby future.

Congratulations to Boity.
